Robert Scoble Profile by KRON 4's Brian Shields

Another intriguing report from Shields. I felt relieved to hear Scoble talk about the "other" type of digital divide: those who pay attention to things that REALLY matter (to little things, like, say, human values or the suffering of others or maybe even things that make them think about what actually impacts their own lives and why, but I digress...), and those who put blinders on and continue sleepwalking. It's a relief to me because it seems to only reason Cheney and Bush are still there is because there are still enough people who don't want to pay attention... It's interesting that Scoble talks about how PR people are horrified about DYI videos and bloggers, because they don't know what to do or how to control it...and KRON 4 knows it now HAS to cover (ironically?) Shields's story on Scoble here...Finally, I have to thank KRON and Shields for this report, because it happened on a day when I was feverishly sketching ideas on what might be some of the better ways to cope with the acceleration of information in our culture, and this report seemed wildly pertinent.
